Measurement

How to Measure Nail Width

Measure bare nails before applying nail oil, gel, glue, or adhesive tabs. If your two hands differ, record each finger separately.

English nail measurement guide showing soft tape and paper ruler methods.
Use the soft-tape method when you have a flexible measuring tape. Use the paper-ruler method when you only have paper and a straight ruler.

Two easy at-home methods

1
Soft tape methodAlign the scale with one sidewall, wrap the tape snugly across the nail curve, then read the mark at the opposite sidewall.
2
Paper ruler methodWrap paper across the widest part of the nail, mark both side edges, flatten the paper, and measure the distance in millimeters.
3
If between sizesChoose the larger tip and file the sidewalls slowly. A too-small tip can lift because it cannot sit flush.
Application Options

Reusable Press-On Nail Care

Each wear method has a different hold time and reuse result. The cleanest look always starts with buffed, oil-free nails.
